You will reap the benefits of deep tissue massage if it becomes a regular part of your life. Just like lifting and physical therapy, the best results come from repetition over time. My goal is for us to work together to take better care of your health, long-term.
Communication is absolutely key. I need to know how you're feeling, past injury/surgery, current activity levels, what lifts or movements are painful/tight/uncomfortable, what you're looking to gain from the massage, discomfort levels during the massage etc. In turn, we will work together to form the best treatment plan for you.
Deep tissue/sports Massage is a tool to aid in recovery, range of motion, stress, tension, and pain relief. Whether you're an athlete or just want to feel better, the benefits of massage can be life changing. Let me be a part of your journey!
Deep Tissue reaches deeper layers of the muscles to restore proper function to help get rid of trigger points, "knots", and release tension in the muscle. This massage is beneficial for athletic and conventional lifestyles alike for pain management, recovery, and overall better quality of life.
Rockblading/Gua Sha is a technique that uses a dull instrument to open up superficial tissue connected to the muscle along with helping the brain reconnect fully to an area of previous injury or restriction. The brain will lower signals to an area of injury or restriction as to not further aforementioned issue. But sometimes, the brain will not reconnect those signals even after healing, so that’s where the Rockblades/Gua Sha come in to heighten the signals and restore range of motion.
Cupping is a modality that uses either plastic or silicone cups to create negative pressure, like a vacuum, that lifts and separates the different layers of tissue. This, in turn, creates an environment of relaxation in the tissue that promotes better exchange of interstitial fluids, vascular regeneration, decreased hypersensitivity, and better range of motion. Basically, I will either glide a cup across the skin or put it stationary on a particular spot to move water around to spots that need it and create space in the tissues that need it.
